Bar Reddin’s work, The Garden Party – Silvano, has been selected for the 196th RHA Annual Exhibition in association with McCann FitzGerald, emerging from a highly competitive field of nearly 4,900 entries. Following a rigorous two-stage adjudication process, Reddin’s piece is one of only 435 artworks chosen for display in this landmark showcase of contemporary art. The exhibition will be hosted at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, following a private Varnishing Day on 24 May, and will remain open to the public from 25 May through 9 August 2026. This selection underscores the artist's standing within the current Irish and international art scene and offers a significant platform to view this exceptional new work.

Bar Reddin Wins the Fish Short Story Prize 2025/26

We are pleased to announce that Bar Reddin has been awarded first place in the 2025/26 Fish Short Story Prize for his story, ‘Nothing Becomes a Man Like His Fall’.

Selected from a global field of entries by judge Sean Lusk, the story provides a poignant reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s final hours before his arrest. Lusk described the work as a "tour-de-force," praising its gripping pace and convincing emotional depth.

As the winner, Bar receives a €3,000 prize and will be published in the Fish Anthology 2026. He will also attend the West Cork Literary Festival in Bantry this July for the official book launch and a short story workshop.
